Fractionated CO2

Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is the newest anti-aging treatment that rejuvenates the skin’s texture and tone, leaving you with a lasting and healthy glow. This approach is used to treat fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration caused by sun damage, as well as, to treat acne scars. After a single treatment significant results can be seen with minimal downtime and discomfort.

Treatments Include:

  • Improves texture, tone and pore size
  • Reduces fine line and wrinkles
  • Erases unwanted brown spots
  • Smooths wrinkles around the eye
  • Decreases acne scars
  • Rejuvenates neck, chest and hands
  • Simulates new collagen to firm skin

How Does it Work?

The Fractional CO2 Laser System penetrates the skin using multiple laser beams, which reduce skin imperfections and promote collagen regeneration. By creating tiny micro-wounds spaced apart in the skin, the doctor is treating only a fraction of the skin’s surface, minimizing discomfort and healing time.

What Can you Expect After the Procedure?

You will notice some swelling and redness for a few days. Depending on the aggressiveness of the treatment, the redness may last somewhat longer. In most cases, healing occurs in one to three weeks. During that time, with the exception of the first 5-7 days post-treatment, you may apply makeup to tone down the redness.
How Soon Will I See Results?

Within a few days, new skin will appear that is smoother and more even-toned. You will continue to see improvement in your skin’s texture and tone for up to nine months because of the stimulation of new collagen. After the procedure you will be given specific instruction on how to maintain your new appearance. Results from the Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment are long term and highly successful.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most people need between one and three treatments. Improvement will be noticeable within days of your first treatment. However, it is possible that if you have deep scars and/or wrinkles you will need a second or third treatment. Your doctor is the best person to assess how many treatments you might need during your initial consultation.

How Long Will the Effects Last?

The effects of the laser treatment do not “wear off” with time, but obviously your skin will continue to age. To minimize on-going damage, consult with your doctor about preventative measures, for example, a good sunscreen, makeup, etc. You may need to adopt the habit of wearing a hat or engaging in sports earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon, away from the sun’s peak hours. These are practical lifestyle changes that will help you retain your new, healthier skin.
