Kybella® (deoxycholic acid) is the first and only FDA-approved injectable permanent treatment to reduce excess fat under the chin, also known as a “double chin”. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally-occurring molecule found in the body that functions by breaking down and absorbing dietary fat. When injected into the fat under the chin, it breaks down the fat cells and prevents them from storing or accumulating fat.
Kybella® can be a great alternative to liposuction or surgery to improve the appearance and profile of the chin and jawline.
Kybella® treatments consist of a series of injections, which vary per person, depending on the amount of fullness under the chin. You may receive up to four treatments at 1 month intervals, though typically visible results are achieved between two to four treatments. Each treatment typically take 20 – 30 minutes in office.
